1. What We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to register domains and run the service:

  • Contact info — name, email, phone number, and address (required for domain registration by ICANN)
  • Account data — phone number for authentication, account preferences
  • Usage data — pages visited, searches performed, and basic interaction data (self-hosted, see Analytics below)

We do not store your payment card data. All payment processing is handled by Stripe. Card numbers, CVVs, and billing details go directly to Stripe's PCI-compliant servers — we never see or store them.

2. How We Use It

Your information is used for:

  • Processing domain registrations and renewals
  • Managing your account and domains
  • Sending verification codes and important account notifications
  • Improving the service based on aggregate usage patterns
  • Preventing fraud and abuse

We don't send marketing emails. We don't sell your data.

3. Analytics

We use self-hosted analytics. No Google Analytics. No Facebook Pixel. No third-party trackers. No cookies for tracking purposes.

We collect basic, anonymized usage data (page views, search queries, country) to understand how people use the site and make it better. This data is stored on our own servers and never shared with third parties.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only with the services required to operate pear.monster:

  • OpenProvider — our registrar partner, receives your contact info to process domain registrations (required by ICANN)
  • Stripe — processes your payments securely
  • Twilio — sends SMS verification codes for authentication

That's it. No data brokers, no ad networks, no "trusted partners."

5. Data Retention

We keep your account data as long as your account is active. Domain registration records are retained as required by ICANN regulations. If you delete your account, we'll remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to keep it.

Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized — we don't tie it back to individual accounts.

6. Your Rights

You can:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Export your domain and account data
